Mourinho ★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★ 17 Stars

Let us not consider ifs and buts, otherwise things will get murkier. For an example, on budget spent, we can argue, if we consider reduced cost of players due to pandemic, Ole's budget spend is much higher than Mourino's. We can argue Ole's first season is not his first season, he had the advantage of playing and studying the players for half a season before he started his full first season. One can say if United would not have lost Maguire to injuries, Ole could have won Europa League. Another one can say had Liverpool not lost Van Dijk, United would not be second in the league. We can go on and on and on.

So no ifs and buts. Lets concentrate just on plain facts.

If we compare the vital parameters, which are always a deciding factor in any kind of team ranking, like in a League table, its the number of points, the goal differences, which puts you above in the ranking, Mourinho has better record.

Mourinho's United has more points, more wins, less losses, better goal differences and to top it up Mournho's United has 3 trophies to Ole's United remains trophyless.

In return Ole's United scored more goals, conceded more goals, got less goal differences and importantly less points.

As a fan if you are asked whether you prefer more points or more goals. Let us leave it for readers to figure out. If not sure, just show current premier league table to Licester supporters and ask whether they liked the fact that they scored 10 more goals than Chelsea and got 1 less point than Chelsea which kept them out of Champions League.

No one will ever know what Mourinho would have achieved had club chosen Mourinho over Pogba just like they chose Ole over 75 millon Lukaku. Had the club given him a center back he begged so hard in his third season just like they gave Ole world's most expensive defender even if Ole had same defenders at his disposal like Mourinho. Only option Mourinho had was to keep his head down and be happy finishing second and third like Ole has done last 3 years which is not in Mourinho's DNA. Even if Mourinho would have gone against his DNA and stick along, would the media and pundits have said that United is improving just like they are saying for last 3 years with Ole inspite of the stats we just discussed in this article. Answers to this probably we all know.

Solskajer may go on and win great things and be successful, since club is determined to back him irrespective of poor resutls from Ole just to prove their erlier mistakes as correct, and certainly a club of stature like Man United desparatedly needs the success and we wish Ole good luck, but as a project with almost same budget and within same timeframe we have to inarguably admit Mournho was a huge success and Ole has beeen a massive failure.
